Driving down the road at 102, Too fast, I know, but I had a plan, I called my baby on her mobile phone, I said Hi there, it's your man. I'm coming for now you right away, Let's take a day off and have fun. Forget your worries, forget your work It's time to go out in the sun She said 'Sorry babe, I'd love to come with you, But I do you hope you understand I got too much to do.' It took me by surprise, I have to admit But I was not deflated I headed off to visit my old pal Pat I knew he would be elated. He answered the door in a pin stripe suit, looking like a sharp dressed-man He said 'I'm always up for a drink with you, As often as I possibly can, But this time I can't make it, And I do you hope you understand I got too much to do.' My patience and my phone were running low Thinking live can be a bitch I really needed a beer or two One for the road and one for the ditch. Thought about my drinkin' buddy James A partner I knew I could trust I found him in a terrible state With me in body . . . . but only just. He said, 'You can see my predicament man, And I've lost a good few days I got too much to do.' I got home, feeling well down, I couldn't find a drinking friend But I knew a person to whom I could turn, One way this day would end. I shook my alter ego by the hand. Poured a beer for me and him I knew that I needed a serious drink, As my patience was running real thin, Then he said, 'Sorry, someone has to tell you son, And I do hope you'll understand You got too much to do!'

Tired of waking up on my own, I have a house, but I don't have a home. So lonely living life by yourself. Don't like feeling left up on the shelf Where's the why? Where's the you? It doesn't worry me all of the time, Just appears with no reason or rhyme Sometimes I see somebody smile I'd like to be there, every once in a while Where's the why? Where's the you? I'm getting older, I'm getting tired Drunk, too often . . . getting wired Don't know, how long I can last. Life is going slower and time is moving fast. Where's the why? Where's the you? You might be tall, and slender with long blonde hair. You might be 'reet petite' I don't really care. As long as your mind works and your heart is true, Don't mind if your eyes are green, brown or blue. Where's the why? Where's the you?

Feelin' Blue 02:50
It’s early in the morning The sun is already hot There’s fresh food in the kitchen The coffee pot is hot So why Am I feeling blue? No clouds on the horizon, I got money in the bank, My car is sitting pretty And there's gasoline in the tank So why Am I feeling blue? There's big fish in the river There's grapes upon the vine. Last night we had a party We had a really good time, So why Am I feeling blue? My baby's gone and left me, Not for another man, She says she wants to travel, And she doesn't give a damn. She told me this morning. I said I don't know what to say. She said;'Say what you want, honey, 'Cos I'm leaving you anyway' So I'll leave the food in the kitchen, The coffee into kept tale off in my cadillac, 'Cos believe it or not, My baby has gone cold on me; but her sister has not!

How it is 03:32
I’ve been thinking, ‘Bout what I’ve seen, About what I’ve done And where I have been Made decisions, ‘Bout people I’ve met Some were good ones, Some I regret Don’t know the future, Can’t change the past That’s how it is. I’ve been thinking, ‘Bout me and you Where are we going, What will we do. Nothing to hold us together Not one thing we’ve done. No reason unites us We live two lives not one. Don’t know the future, Can’t change the past That’s how it is. I’ve been thinking, ‘Bout what might pass Will I ever find someone, A love that‘ll last. I’m still hoping Still looking around. But the other half of me Is nowhere to be found. Don’t know the future, Can’t change the past That’s how it is. I’ve been thinking, ‘Bout what might have been Might have been a different take, Cut to a different scene. A bit less adventure Might have been less fun. But I could be settled down ‘stead of rambling on. Don’t know the future, Can’t change the past That’s how it is.

You can be so funny, and you can be so mean. You can be the sweetest girl the world has ever seen. It can be so perfect, it can be so right. But I don't know where I'll be at the end of the night. 'Cos I don't know where it's going to go, You give me the blues I think about you baby, all the night and every day, But i don't know what you're going to do, or what you're going to say. You know i love you baby for better or for worse. Don't know if it's a blessing, or whether it's a curse. You drive me crazy, You give me the blues Want to think about the future, forget bout the past, Try to find something, something that will last. You know that's all that matters in the end, To find a lover; to find a friend. You help me get along; you help me write this song. You give me the blues
